From Florida Capitol News:
With another hurricane season not far off, the American Red Cross disaster fund will get nearly half of an $82,000 price-gouging settlement Attorney General Bill McCollum announced Tuesday.
McCollum said Flash Foods Inc., a convenience store and gasoline chain with 16 locations in the Jacksonville area, cooperated with his Economic Crimes Division in a five-month inquiry. The “Assurance of Voluntary Compliance” entered into by the Waycross, Ga., company did not admit wrong-doing but said “it was difficult for Flash Foods to determine its fuel costs on a timely basis.”
