Connecticut’s legislative Republicans unveiled their own plan Wednesday to cut this fiscal year’s deficit, proposing reductions in legislative pay and allowing the sale of alcohol on Sundays.
Recent estimates show the current fiscal year, which ends June 30, is at least $1 billion in deficit. Deficit estimates for the next two fiscal years range from $6 billion to $8.6 billion.Gov. M. Jodi Rell, a Republican, has said she hopes to unveil her third deficit-cutting plan Friday.
