From the AP:
The Montana Senate supports a bill that would end the death penalty in the state.
Senators Monday voted 27-23 for the measure and are likely to cast a final vote on Tuesday.
This is the second consecutive legislative session with the Senate supporting an end to the death penalty. A 2007 proposal cleared the Senate but failed in the House.
