Senate President Pro Tem Glenn Coffee and state House Speaker Chris Benge want an opinion from the state Supreme Court on Gov. Brad Henry’s use of the line-item veto.
The two Republicans contend in a lawsuit that Henry misused the line-item power by vetoing portions of 2 general legislation bills. The bills specified how money appropriated to the Department of Corrections and the Ethics Commission were to be spent.
