A policy group is urging Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry to create an oversight board to insure accountability in the expenditure of federal stimulus funds.
The Oklahoma Policy Institute made the request Wednesday as it released a report analyzing details of the state’s $2.6 billion share of the stimulus package.
“Given our deteriorating fiscal condition and the urgency of mitigating the extent of budget cuts that could inflict real harm on our citizens and our economy, these funds present a powerful opportunity for Oklahoma,” said Matt Guillory, executive director of the group.
