The latest in chatter about Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey potentially running for Governor.
From Nashville Post Politics:
And Ken Whitehouse says he’s looking to make it officially unofficial by setting up an exploratory committee:
According to state law, Ramsey is not allowed to raise campaign funds while the legislature is in session. But speculation would be that calls are being made now in order to encourage potential donors not to commit to any of the other Republican gubernatorial candidates.

I think Ron would make a great governor and we certainly wouldn’t have to fear another horn blowing all out war about a state income tax under his conservative leadership. I have no doubt that Ron would carry middle and east tn. (especially Knox Co.) I worry about his strength in west tn. and that will be something he will have to spend a lot of time and resouces on to be successful. You can be certain that if Big Jim (excuse me -Bill Haslam) wins the nomination an income tax will be the first item on his agenda (I didn’t say platform , even though jim/ bill signed the Bloomberg letter , they are not stupid enough to say the I.T. word in Tn.- maybe N>Y>).
