The campaign for governor is beginning in Illinois.
Republican St. Sen. Bill Brady has scheduled a statewide flyaround for Monday to announce his bid for the Governor’s Mansion in 2010. Brady ran in a crowded GOP primary in 2006, eventually losing to former state treasurer Judy Baar Topinka. Brady plans stops in Chicago, Springfield, Marion and his hometown of Bloomington to officially announce his candidacy. He was in Effingham Thursday night as the main speaker at the Effingham County Republicans’ Lincoln Day Dinner.
Brady said many of the campaign issues will be decided in Springfield this spring. He said taxes and government spending will be dominant themes.
