From American News:
Builders and buyers of new houses will pay lower property taxes in South Dakota, under a new law that won final approval Thursday from the Legislature.
Gov. Mike Rounds had used his veto power in an attempt to stop the legislation, sponsored by Rep. Mark Kirkeby, R-Rapid City.
But the governor’s arguments received little support from lawmakers.
The Senate voted 28-6 Thursday to override the governor’s veto, one day after the House of Representatives voted 60-10 to override.
