Ohio: Approval of Democrat Governor Strickland Slides

Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland’s job approval rating has slipped seven points over the past six weeks, and, for the first time more Ohioans disapprove than approve of his handling of the state’s shaky economy, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday.

The same poll also showed that if the first-term Democratic governor were up for re-election today, he would whip any potential Republican challenger easily.

The new Quinnipiac Poll showed Strickland with a 56 percent job approval rating – still solid, but down seven percentage points from a Quinnipiac in early February.
