Ralph Nader’s not happy. You’d expect a better first effort from taxpayer dollars. It’s not like it’s too much to ask – Indiana got high marks for their efforts. From Courier-Journal:
Kentucky was listed yesterday among the seven worst states for disclosing state contracting information online by Ralph Nader and his Center for the Study of Responsive Law.
And Bill Allison, senior fellow with the Sunlight Foundation, which works to make government records accessible online, said in an interview, “It’s a good first step, but they need to add a lot more data to make these records really useful to the public.”
Gov. Steve Beshear launched www.opendoor.ky.gov on Jan. 1.
“I’m proud of our administration’s efforts … to put our checkbooks online for public view in such a comprehensive and user-friendly manner,” the governor said in a news release.
