Jack may reinvent where he’s from, but this is how we’ll always remember Jack Conway from the 2007 AGs campaign.
From Courier-Journal:
“Kentucky, now is the time for a new generation of leadership, now is the time for bold ideas and a new vision and the knowledge that a brighter tomorrow is just over the horizon,” the 39-year-old Conway said in drawing a stark contrast to Sen. Jim Bunning, the 77-year-old who now holds the seat.
The rally brought together people from around the state to endorse Conway over a fellow Democrat, Lt. Gov. Daniel Mongiardo, who already had announced his plans to run for the seat.
From Louisville, U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth and Mayor Jerry Abramson — who last endorsed a candidate in a major Democratic primary election in 1987 — attended.
From Central Kentucky, U.S. Rep. Ben Chandler, of Versailles, and state Auditor Crit Luallen, of Frankfort — both of whom had considered the race but stepped aside for Conway — were there.
