From Freep.com:
Michigan and Canadian officials will introduce new travel documents aimed at enhancing security and easing border crossings at a news conference in Detroit on Tuesday.
The news conference at the Ambassador Bridge will feature a demonstration of Michigan’s enhanced driver’s license, which can be used for travel to and from Canada and Mexico in lieu of a passport. Travelers will be required to have an enhanced license, passport or other verified identity document in order to cross the border beginning June 1 under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative.
Terri Lynn Land is expected to announce at the news conference that the state’s enhanced ID will become available this week at a cost of $45 for a license and $30 for a state ID card.
