Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn plans to run next year to keep the seat he inherited from impeached ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich, he told the Post-Dispatch editorial board Friday.
“Yeah,” Quinn said, when asked whether he will run in November 2010 to keep the seat he assumed 12 weeks ago. “I think I’ve done a good job. I plan to do that (run for election). I see no reason not to.”
Quinn has hinted for weeks that he wants to stay in the seat, but Friday’s comments marked his clearest declaration of intent.
