From Atlanta Business Chronicle:
Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle underwent successful surgery Monday for a degenerative disc problem he cited two weeks ago in dropping out of the race for governor.
The Gainesville Republican was in recovery late Monday afternoon after what the Emory Healthcare surgeon who performed the operation described as a “technically exacting procedure” to repair damage to his spinal cord and nerve roots that began causing him severe pain and some partial paralysis late in this year’s General Assembly session.
As lieutenant governor, Cagle presides over the Senate, a job that entails standing for long periods of time.
