From Pine Bluff Commercial:
Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel traveled 22 times on a state prison system airplane in the last two years, but failed to reimburse the agency for much of his travel, a newspaper reported Sunday.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette said McDaniel ended up paying $9,860.50 in fees to the Arkansas Department of Correction after the newspaper began an inquiry into the travel. McDaniel and prison officials blamed a billing error for delaying the payment, which finally came to the agency in April.“It’s my fault … I let this slip _ way longer than I intended,” Teresa Funderburg, a prison procurement manager, wrote in an e-mail April 22. That was two days after the newspaper asked for evidence that McDaniel’s office had reimbursed the prison agency.
