From the Register-Herald:
Elimination of the franchise tax and reductions in other business taxes, and letting voters decide if marriages in West Virginia are defined as “one man, one woman” unions, are goals of House Republicans in an upcoming special session.
Gov. Joe Manchin hasn’t shown his cards for the extraordinary session or indicated just when it will start.
In a news conference this week, Manchin said he likely will get the session going early next week, although some lawmakers are grumbling about the back-to-back sessions, privately telling reporters they would rather come back June 15 and dovetail the special session with interim meetings.
