From TBO.com:
Agriculture Secretary Charles Bronson today endorsed Bill McCollum in the race for governor, and McCollum said Bronson will be on his short list of running mate candidates.
Bronson, who considered running for governor but decided three weeks ago not to, said he hasn’t talked to either of the prominent Republicans who are still considering challenging McCollum for the GOP nomination—state Sen. Paula Dockery of Lakeland or former state Sen. Dan Webster of Winter Garden.
But unlike when he was considering running himself, Bronson said today that he thinks it’s important for the party to avoid a primary.
He previously said it was unhealthy and would cut the morale and energy of the party’s grassroots for the party to clear the field for a single candidate and avoid a primary.
