From IdahoStatesman.com:
The Idaho Attorney General’s Office has received a dozen calls from senior citizens who have reported receiving calls from individuals posing as their grandchildren, a police officer or bail bondsman. The callers ask for money to be wired.
One grandparent reported wiring $11,000 out of the United States because she believed that her grandson was in prison under horrible conditions.
A typical call goes like this:
Victim: Hello.
