From JSonline:
Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle was asked twice in recent days whether he will run for a third four-year term next year.
Both times, he gave the same answer: “I’ve still got a lot of work ahead of me before I think about that.”
Doyle’s supporters say they expect – and want – him to soon say that he will run again. They cite his record of keeping public schools strong, policies that make Wisconsin second in the nation in the number of residents with health care, and steps he’s taken to ensure that Wisconsin gets its share of federal stimulus money.
Doyle is a tough campaigner who “has never lost an election in his life,” state Democratic Chairman Mike Tate said. He has won five statewide elections – attorney general in 1990, ’94 and ’98, and governor in 2002 and ’06.
