Now that former U.S. Sen. John E. Sununu has taken himself out of the running to succeed U.S. Sen. Judd Gregg, the buzz has turned to Attorney General Kelly Ayotte.
How great is Ayotte’s interest? She’s not saying.
Colin Manning, Gov. John Lynch’s spokesman, has been reported by NHPoliticalReport.com as saying that before Lynch, a Democrat, reappointed Republican Ayotte to a full second term, he understood that she would serve in the post through 2013.
Ayotte hasn’t said anything about whether she will run, and she has yet to say what she told Lynch in April.
