From NJ.com:
Republican lawmakers are pushing for new legislation that would require the state to notify communities by e-mail when sex offenders move to a new area.
Ocean County Republicans Sen. Christopher Connors, Assemblyman Brian Rumpf and Assemblyman Daniel Van Pelt are sponsoring a bill requiring the Attorney General’s office to provide e-mail announcements for neighbors of Megan’s Law registered sex offenders.
“Under our initiative, concerned residents can request to be notified by e-mail if and when certain sexual offenders who are already listed on the Internet Registry move to a new address,” said Connors, a member of the Senate Law and Public Safety Committee.
