Five-term state Rep. Rod Roberts next week will announce he’s forming a committee to explore a bid for the Republican gubernatorial nomination.
Roberts will join a crowded field of candidates who have made moves toward seeking the Republican nomination to oppose Democratic Gov. Chet Culver. Culver has made clear he’ll seek a second term.Roberts, of Carroll, has scheduled a Statehouse news conference Tuesday where he says he’ll discuss his plans to form a committee and lay the groundwork for a run at governor.
