From DesMoinesRegister.com:
Republican Stephen Burgmeier, a farmer from Lockridge and Jefferson County supervisor, is now his party’s official nominee in the Sept. 1 special election in House District 90, the state party reported.
The race is to fill the seat vacated by Rep. John Whitaker’s appointment to a state post with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Curt Hanson of Fairfield is the Democrat in the race.
Here’s the release sent last night by the Republican Party of Iowa:
Des Moines, IA – Republican Party of Iowa State Chairman Matt Strawn tonight welcomed Stephen Burgmeier as the Republican candidate in the Special Election to fill the vacancy in Iowa House District 90. Strawn said, “Stephen Burgmeier is an outstanding candidate and my pledge as State Party Chairman to him is that we are in it to win it.
