Republican Jack Ditty has jumped out to an early fundraising lead in the race to fill a legislative seat left empty when former Sen. Charlie Borders resigned to take a position with the Public Service Commission.
Ditty, a Russell dermatologist, reported contributions totaling $26,720 in a report filed Thursday with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance. Democratic candidate Robin Webb, a state representative and lawyer from Grayson, reported no contributions in a report she filed Tuesday.
Independent candidate Guy Gibbons entered the race earlier this week and hasn’t yet filed a campaign finance report.
