“I am the candidate that can beat Paul Hodes,” Ayotte told a crowd of Republican activists in Wolfeboro last week.
“You know how I know that? Because ever since I left the Attorney General’s office there’s almost a press release put out every single day by either Ray Buckley or Kathy Sullivan. I didn’t even know they knew me before that,” she continued, as the audience chuckled along.
“Why are they doing that? Because they are afraid. They are afraid of my candidacy,” she added.
Ayotte struck a similar chord in Dover over the weekend.
