From the Concord Monitor:
During tough economic times, the state Department of Justice has to shift its priorities, said Attorney General Michael Delaney.
A week into his tenure, Delaney, 40, spoke to the Monitor about his views on the role of New Hampshire’s “top cop.” Delaney, a former deputy attorney general and former counsel to Gov. John Lynch, acknowledged that he’s starting the job at a difficult time, facing budget cuts and a national recession.
“If you look at the challenges so many of our citizens are facing, that’s placed a lot of unique and growing demands on the Department of Justice,” Delaney said. “I believe the Department of Justice is going to have to play a critical role in the next couple of years in meeting those demands.”
