Come January, New Jersey will swear in the state’s first-ever lieutenant governor, a new position whose holder will have to figure out the job as she goes along.
The role is a new one to the campaigns, too.
Incumbent Democrat Jon Corzine’s running mate, state Sen. Loretta Weinberg, is taking on a role vice presidential candidates usually fill: Designated campaign attack dog.
This month, two Corzine campaign news releases have begun, “Weinberg blasts Christie.”
