This year’s Tour of Missouri generated an economic impact of $38.1 million, up 28 percent from $29.8 million in 2008 and up 45 percent from $26.2 million in 2007, according to a study Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder released Thursday.
During the course of the seven-day cycling race last month, the average out-of-state visitor spent more than $220 per day, according to a study Kinder, chairman of both the race and the Missouri Tourism Commission, presented at Thursday’s commission meeting in Branson.
