New state law has everyone scratching their heads:
LITTLE ROCK – A 17-year-old male headed to the military has married his 18-year-old girlfriend with a judge’s permission in Pulaski County, further clouding the issues surrounding a new state law governing underage nuptials.
George Adams III of Alexander said Tuesday he was denied a marriage license in neighboring Saline County after being told he was too young under a revised state law that set the marriage age of consent at 18. Adams turns 18 on Nov. 21.
