From TwinCities.com:
About eight months ago, police in Cancun pulled over a car being driven by Fischbach’s husband, Scott, also known around the halls of the Capitol as a lobbyist who heads Minnesota Concerned Citizens for Life. Inside were his wife, Michelle, and three others.
Police accused Scott Fischbach of drinking and driving, and demanded a payment of $300. These bribes are infamous in Mexico, going by the name of “La Mordita.” And furthermore, Scott Fischbach doesn’t drink alcohol.
But they pulled over the wrong car. The Fischbachs raised a stink, several cops were placed under investigation and subsequently fired, the Fischbachs had their money returned to them and the whole episode was front-page news in Mexico on Wednesday.
