From JournalStar.com:
Attorney General Jon Bruning’s crime package of four bills is not expected to cost taxpayers anything, but tightens up laws covering pyramid schemes, electronic gambling-like games, drunk drivers and people who download child pornography.
The measures “strengthen and improve the tools that law enforcement use, and help make Nebraska a safer place to live and raise a family,” said Bruning, as he announced his annual crime package Tuesday morning, a day before the 2010 legislative session begins.
The bills, which do not increase jail penalties, will not likely increase costs, according to Bruning. Because of lower-than-expected tax receipts many senators say bills that will increase state spending are unlikely to be passed this year.
