MADISON — Atty. Gen. J.B. Van Hollen is drawing heat for comments he made encouraging the media to not ask any questions about the mass shooting in Crandon.Not only did Van Hollen say last week he would not hold any more news conferences in the city where the killings took place, he asked all Crandon residents to ignore reporters asking questions.
Van Hollen left the podium without taking questions.
Van Hollen was simply passing on the wishes of the victims’ families and more information about the murders will be released in time, said state Department of Justice spokesman Kevin St. John.
