From the Wall Street Journal:
According to a Suffolk University/7News poll released late Thursday, Brown leads 50%-46%. While Brown’s lead falls within the polls margin of error, polling director David Paleologos said Brown has “surged dramatically” in the closing days of the race.
No Republican has won a Massachusetts Senate seat since 1972. (For more, read today’s Wall Street Journal story on the race.)
The Brown surge is causing panic in the Democratic ranks, as a Republican victory there would eliminate the party’s 60-vote super-majority in the Senate and could force Democrats to recalculate their strategy for approving a health care overhaul if he is sworn in before final passage.
