From Courier-Journal:
The top Democrat in the Kentucky Senate says he will retire at the end of his term this year, giving rise to Republican hopes that they can increase their majority.
Senate Minority Leader Ed Worley, D-Richmond, said he chose to retire because he can no longer keep up the pace in the Senate and run his construction business.
“Representing three counties, serving as the Senate Democratic floor leader and running a small business in a bad economy is more than good reason or good health can handle,” Worley said.
