HARRISBURG – Responding to criticism of the millions of dollars doled out to legislative aides as well as officials at the state’s student loan agency, the state Senate on Wednesday passed a bill that would ban extra pay for most state workers.The bill, which passed on a 48-0 vote, would have to be approved by the state House of Representatives and signed by Gov. Ed Rendell before becoming law.
