Wyoming will not join a multistate lawsuit against the federal government over the new health care reform measure, Gov. Dave Freudenthal said this morning.
“They have plenty of plaintiffs and plenty of lawyers and when the Supreme Court rules, whichever way they rule, it still affects Wyoming,” he told reporters during a press conference in his office. “I don’t believe it necessary to sign on to the complaint as it is currently offered by the states.”
The governor stressed, however, that this decision does not preclude the State from filing suit at a later date, should he and Attorney General Bruce Salzburg find cause to do so after examining the law more at length.
