From Courier-Journal:
The May primary election will be a first for Mark Slaughter, candidate in the Republican primary for Bullitt County’s 49th District House seat.
His challenger, Russell Webber, has been a candidate three times, once coming within 36 votes of victory.
Slaughter is funding his campaign with $780 of his money, while Webber has raised $4,758, mostly by reaching out to residents who have given to conservative Republicans in the past, he said.
And that’s where a lot of the men’s differences end.
Both have taken a grassroots approach to campaigning, sticking to door-to-door introductions, and in Slaughter’s case, Facebook and web pages to gain support.
