From The Herald:
Republican Sam Blakeslee stands just 374 votes short of claiming a winning majority in Tuesday’s high-stakes race in the 15th state Senate District.
The officials results won’t be known for several days.
The state Republican Party this morning said it has staff members and attorneys ready to monitor the count of provisional ballots, late absentee ballots and “thousands of votes that will be recounted” in all fives counties of the district.
Blakeslee, a San Luis Obispo County member of the Assembly, finished with 49.71 percent of Tuesday’s vote. Democrat John Laird of Santa Cruz County finished with 41.23 percent of the vote.
