HARRISBURG — Democrats in the state House on Tuesday beat back a Republican effort to halt consideration of a thick pile of amendments to a bill that would completely gut and replace Pennsylvania’s 50-year-old Right-to-Know Law.The largely party-line procedural vote defeated an attempt to send the freedom of information bill back to a committee amid arguments the legislation needed to be fine-tuned, particularly regarding which e-mails would be public.
