They say that all trends start in California and move east. If that's the case, watch out!
“In a move that would change the way presidential campaigns are conducted and the outcomes decided, the Senate approved a measure that would require California to enter into a compact with other states to agree to cast their Electoral College votes for the candidate who received the most popular votes nationwide. The compact would not go into effect until enough states have joined to create a majority of electoral votes — enough to decide the election.”
Is this really sour grapes really carried out to the extreme?
“Democrats were angered in 2000 when President Bush won in the Electoral College but lost the popular vote to Democrat Al Gore by about 500,000 votes. But in 2004, Republicans would have had reason to complain had 60,000 votes in Ohio switched. Had that happened, Democrat John Kerry would have won a majority of electoral votes even though Bush received close to 3 million more popular votes.”
