Laws were broken – fines are to be paid. This is not a case of someone viewing laws through a subjective prism – this is pretty straight. Both sides seem to agree that there were problems, and those problems are being resolved.
“We will continue to work (with the state Department of Natural Resources) to ensure the state’s environmental laws are followed,” Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said in a statement. “We are hopeful that the company’s corrective actions will eliminate any future violations.”Marjorie Young, general counsel for the Combined Locks-based company, said many of the issues have been resolved.
