Good politics is about short term solutions – never creating solutions that will resolve problems months, or years on down the road. And Oklahoma’s Democrat A.G. Drew Edmondson is being true to that philosophy – he’s speaking in the short term – not having the vision to think about what’s months, or years over the horizon. And what’s more, if you read the article, you’ll see Edmondson picks up the state and local Democrat talking point on immigration – the equivalent of hey – it’s not our problem – let the Federal government sort it out. At least state and local Republicans are trying to solve the problem, instead of punting it away and blaming somebody else.
Edmondson told the Governor’s Advisory Council on Latin American and Hispanic Affairs he doubts the law will be overturned. But he says the measure is causing state government some problems and says if there are any positives from the law they are not being seen in the short term.
