From KansasCity.com:
Missouri’s Republican-led House is urging the state’s congressional delegation to vote against a federal health care overhaul.
House members voted 111-46 Tuesday on a resolution encouraging Missouri’s delegation to vote against the health care measure being considered in Washington.
Republicans decried the federal legislation as too big, too expensive, too intrusive in people’s lives and too full of special deals for certain states.
Democratic House leaders accused Republicans of putting on a political show. Still, some Democrats joined them in voting for the measure.

“A year is too long to have a district go without state representation,” said Rep. Rick Jones, R-Grand Ledge. “We have airmen, soldiers who died for our right to be represented.”
The winner of the November election will serve the last eight weeks of Simpson’s remaining term and then begin a new term in 2011.
