From kotatv.com:
Rasmussen Reports’ latest survey of likely voters in South Dakota shows Republican Lieutenant Governor Dennis Daugaard leading Democrat Scott Heidepriem 49-32%. The margin of error is 4.5%. Undecideds make up 13% in this pairing.
But only Daugaard could defeat Heidepriem if the election were held right now.
In a matchup against other Republicans in the race, Heidepriem comes out on top. Heidepriem now leads State Senate Majority Leader Dave Knudson 37% to 32%. Undecideds account for 19% in this faceoff.

South Dakota Sues to Stop Health Care Law
Last Updated on Wednesday, 29 September 2010 02:15 Written by rslcpol Wednesday, 24 March 2010 12:32
From ArgusLeader.com:
President Obama’s signature of a sweeping new health care law was met with a lawsuit from a group of attorneys general representing 13 states including South Dakota.
The states want U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson of Florida, where the lawsuit was filed in federal court, to block implementation of the bill. But Gov. Mike Rounds has said that South Dakota will fulfill its duty to adhere to the law unless the judge rules otherwise.
The bill amounts to an unconstitutional encroachment on states’ rights, South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley said, and Rounds publicly backed the decision to join the lawsuit Tuesday.
Among other issues, the lawsuit points to the bill’s requirement that all U.S. citizens carry health insurance, starting in 2014.
