LANSING — Attorney General Mike Cox announced Tuesday that his official Web site now devotes a page where the public can get more details on expenditures including wages and salaries, contracts and equipment.Cox said he hopes other departments in state government would do the same.
“The public has a right to see how their tax dollars are being spent,” Cox said at a news conference where he was joined by a pair of state lawmakers and national consumer advocate Ralph Nader, who took part by telephone. “Our ‘Track Your Taxes’ Web page will let all Michigan citizens see how the Attorney General’s Office puts their money to work.”
