Maybe finally state and local Democrats are getting with the get tough on sex offenders program (they’ve opposed it here, here, here, and here) that’s sweeping Republican controlled legislative chambers and offices across the country. This is first evidence they have – we’ll reserve judgment until Governor Spitzer signs a credible bill into law.
CARMEL-Putnam County District Attorney Adam Levy believes legislation banning pedophiles from online social networks is a “no-brainer.”
Levy joined his colleagues from Westchester and Rockland Counties in Valhalla last week when State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo came to town to talk about e-STOP-the Electronic Security and Targeting of Online Predators Act-that would make it a crime for child predators to use sites frequented by the young.
Plans call for New York to share information with service providers who would report violators.
