The Dayton Daily News has a great chronology of some of Ohio Democrat A.G. Marc Dann’s troubles just since he was sworn into office in 2007. It’s something that it takes something as big as this current episode with his senior staff to bring everybody back a bit to see that this guy, and the folks around him are really a ticking time bomb (so to speak). Is it any surprise to anybody that the guy who was surprised to have been elected AG, surrounds himself with people who themselves have no business being in any position of public trust? We don’t think we’re being to harsh here SNS fans – review the Dann chronology for yourself – and you decide.

After you do that – watch General Dann’s duck, weave, and spin on the questions posed to him by local reporters. While there’s nothing wrong with staffers being at their bosses house in this business – very common, but as one SNS reader points out – schedules don’t get dropped off in jammies. He does his level best to bring the story back around to the issues that his office should be focusing on, but the history here makes that pretty difficult.

Here’s another question for you – Why not just work at the office?

It’s not like his family was at the condo – it seems more efficient and nicer for his over worked staff to not make them trek from the office to his pad that he shared with his roomies.

What is a statewide elected official doing getting on the phone with a young, single girl who is out drinking with one of Dann’s married friends who is also a senior staff member in Dann’s office, and inviting her back to his condo, and offering the apparently intoxicated young lady pineapple pizza to sweeten the deal some more?

At some point in this transaction doesn’t a red flag go up, a warning bell, some inkling of something being rotten in the state of Denmark show up in this guy’s brain?

We mean look at the facts: married guy out drinking with a single young lady, asking his boss to help him close the deal with fruity pizza, and then the whole state of undress thing? Sure, Marc Dann probably wasn’t party to all of what went on that night, but he was party to enough of it to have nipped it all in the bud. And in truth, when you factor in the rest of the things his office has churned out since January ’07 – things start to build pretty quick.
