So, if one was want to read between the lines here, would they divine that Chris Koster has no interest in having to defend his Democrat credentials, Margaret Donnelly doesn’t want to go head to head with Jeff Harris because she knows she’d come out smelling like a rose in a three-way debate, and would be on the losing end in any other scenario? It’s all good baby, though we’re pretty sure Republican A.G. candidate Mike Gibbons should be up in arms over this – he should be demanding a fair and open Democrat debate!
A debate in Kirksville between the Democratic candidates running for attorney general has been canceled.James Lang of the Truman State University Democrats sent me an e-mail tonight telling me that state Rep. Margaret Donnelly, D-Richmond Heights, had a scheduling conflict for Thursday. Sen. Chris Koster, D-Harrisonville, backed out of the debate last week.
When I was told that all three candidates had agreed to the debate, I accepted the offer to be on a three-person question panel. Without Donnelly or Koster, Lang said, the debate is a no go.
