We Podcasted to you earlier this year about how some special interest Democrat donors were spreading lots of wealth around the country to impact state and local races, and now the folks over at Sound Politics way out in Washington State have drawn attention to a post from Seattle Times political reporter David Postman on his blog about …
“wealthy, gay political donors who target state-level races” airs on All Things Considered this afternoon.”
Postman’s talking about a piece that ran on NPR more fully exploring the local connections and impact of Tim Gill’s mega-donor network and it’s impact on Washington state.
This mega-donor network was in several places in ’06, and will be close to everywhere in ’08.
In short – races and candidates are already being identified – this Dem money will flood into battleground state and local campaigns across the country to impact battleground races.

26, 2007 · A new force is emerging in American politics: wealthy, gay political donors who target state-level races. Last year, they funneled millions of dollars into dozens of carefully selected campaigns. Their goal: to elect gay-friendly governors and state lawmakers… Tim Gill is an openly gay software mogul-turned-philanthropist from Denver. He would not consent to an interview for this story. But his staff confirms that last year, Gill launched an under-the-radar political giving campaign.He and his network of deep-pocketed friends targeted some 70 state-level races in more than a dozen states – including Washington State.
