Things have changed a bit since we last posted on this subject. So, now Stumbo’s rhetoric isn’t quite lining up with the facts, and now he’s looking at running for Congress…no, strike that, the Kentucky House of Representatives. What a decline in stature the outgoing Democrat A.G. has gone through – elected A.G. in 2003 on a fluke, defeated in the Democrat primary as an L.G. candidate, talked about running for U.S. Senate against the immensely popular Mitch McConnell, and now thinking about running for the state house of representatives. He hasn’t finished inventing himself yet…we bet he comes back to run for some kind of county commission post.
Potential Democratic challengers to U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell continue to fall by the wayside. Last week it was state Auditor Crit Luallen who announced she wouldn’t face him.And Attorney General Greg Stumbo was making noises like he might try to return to the Kentucky House of Representatives rather than take on the state’s senior senator, the most powerful Republican on Capitol Hill.
